Hi! I’m Cory, and this is NEON・TOWN・ESCAPE. I’m living in Kabi Kabi Country, known to most as the Sunshine Coast, with my beautiful wife, Misa-chan.
I was previously running this site at Dobondobondo.com but it was time for a change. Out with the old, in with the new. That’s what I always say. Hopefully I’ll now get time to do posts more regularly.
I’ve been interested in art, web design and photography since the 1990s, making my first website in 1996 and continuing to have one ever since. My first blog began in 1998/9, manually creating posts in Macromedia Dreamweaver and publishing updates to HTML pages manually via FTP, way before Blogger and WordPress were around. Now I’m just using a simple template with WordPress; it’s a lot easier to maintain.
I love to use my iPhone 14 Pro and Sony ZV-1 for photos and video, and one day will really get my money’s worth for the ZV-1. I’ve recently invested in video editing software to learn new skills, and will one day put together something epic. On this blog I use Bitmoji for my feature images, with clothing designs based on my current wardrobe, plus haircuts and beards reflecting my current growth.
As for the NEON・TOWN・ESCAPE name, it comes from a Scandal song and I thought it sounded like a good name for a blog. Our goal is to one day escape the city lights for a life in the countryside, so it seems fitting that this was the domain name I registered. (o:
